At Stitch and Bake, everything I do—whether baking or crocheting—is about connection.
Baking has always been my way of showing love. Nothing makes me happier than seeing people come together over a meal—especially when it ends with a dessert I made.
During the pandemic, I set a personal goal: to perfect cinnamon rolls for my family. After lots of research, recipe testing, and taste-testing (the best part!), I finally got them just right. It feels like a true bucket list moment for me.
Crocheting connects me to my late aunt, who was an incredible crocheter. Whenever she asked your favorite colors, you knew a handmade blanket was coming your way. She taught me the basics—how to chain and do a single crochet—but I never quite stuck with it.
In the summer of 2024, I gave it another shot. One evening, I tried crocheting a heart while sipping wine on the patio. It wasn’t perfect, but I pinned it to my work bag as a reminder to keep going. Now, crocheting brings me a deep sense of calm. It’s helped me reconnect with my creativity and myself in ways I never expected.
One day at the Whitefish Bay Farmers Market, a woman stopped by my booth and gave the best compliment:
“Everything here just feels like love.”
That’s exactly what I hope to share through Stitch and Bake. In today’s world, we all need more connection—whether it’s with others, with ourselves, or within our community.
Whether you’re sharing a cinnamon roll with someone you love, remembering someone special through crochet, or simply treating yourself—I hope my work brings a bit of love and connection to your day.
Thank you for your support. I look forward to connecting with you!

Milk bread is a popular staple in Japan and it is a great base for a cinnamon roll because it is incredibly soft, fluffy, and slightly sweet. I also use a technique called yudane where some of the flour is mixed with boiling water to create a paste. When the yudane is mixed back in, it gives the dough more liquid and helps my rolls stay soft and fresh longer.

Inspired by important women in my life
A good, old fashioned traditional cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing. My Aunt Charlotte is the inspiration for this roll. For years, if it was noon on a Sunday, anywhere from 5 to 50 people would be gathered at her house for a homemade meal. (And she is the aunt who taught me to crochet!)
A delicious orange cinnamon roll topped with an orange glaze. It has the perfect amount of natural orange flavor. Named after my husband's grandma who made an orange cake that he still talks about today.
A chocolate cinnamon roll with an espresso glaze. Just like chocolate, my sister Beverly makes everything better. She and I were matched through Big Brothers, Big Sisters over 40 years ago!
The vintage combination of cinnamon and raisins with a cream cheese icing. For my beloved mom who was a single mom, strong, and loving. She worked a lot during the week as one of the first female bus drivers in our town. On weekends, I would get to spend the most time with her and we would often go to Hardees for her favorite--the cinnamon raisin biscuit.
Beautiful floral granny square trivet made of 100% wool art yarn. Functional hot pad for large baking dishes or a stunning piece of art to admire….or is it both!?
I love purses and bags so when I saw this crochet pattern with a boho vibe and braided handle, I knew I had to make it. This pattern is also responsible for the start of my always growing yarn stash. Super fun to make and use.
Super soft, round, and extra cuddly cat filled like a pillow. Fostering kittens for our local shelter during the pandemic was a saving grace for me and my family. So I knew I had to crochet something cat related. $5 of each sale will be donated to MADACC to help support their valuable work.
Crochet keeps me from unraveling.
